The Pink Lighthouse

De Kluut, Netherlands

June 18th - 25th 2026

Dearest faeries 🧚,

For four years, the island gathering has brought magic to our community in The Netherlands. Many faeries: new and old, have arrived on these lush shores to create new bonds and to nourish old ones.

At the height of summer, we stand hand in hand by the water, watching eternal sunsets that melt into endless nights of mischief.

I invite you, dear faeries, to make this pink lighthouse in The Veluwemeer shine brighter than ever. The island invites us to create our own world which we have done now for many years. But we must also come to the gentle realisation that the island, and ourselves, are a part of a bigger world: one that can be beautiful, but nowadays in modern times, complex and challenging.

We therefore invite you to not only bring yourselves to the island, but also bring a sense of hope and creativity. The vision for this year's gathering is twofold: to create meaning and offer a vision for the future - either for yourselves or the world at large, and to manifest your creative talent: through music, storytelling and song. These visions will be supported by a core creative team who will inspire, nourish and support these values.

Let us dance amongst the trees, and show ourselves under her branches. We welcome faeries of all creeds, genders and nationalities. Let us make this pink lighthouse shine brighter than ever.

The gathering takes place on De Kluut, our very own private island nestled among the summery waters of The Veluwemeer.

Situated off the shore of Harderwijk, it is centrally located within The Netherlands and is easily accessible by public transport. The island is accessible via a ferry that runs from Flevostrand.

  • Getting There

De Kluut is located in the lake between the provinces Gelderland and Flevoland. It is reached by ferry that runs from Flevostrand.

From Amsterdam Central Station, it takes a little over 1.5 hours to get there via public transport. If you’re travelling by car, there are also parking spaces close by on the mainland.

  • Length of Stay

    The gathering lasts for 7 nights: 18th - 25th June 2026.

In order to maintain a close communal spirit and to keep costs manageable, we will give priority to those who can stay the full length of the gathering, and only offer partial night-by-night stays if there is space available.

  • Contributions

Contributions are typically 30 - 60 EUR per night, which includes food and accomodation. We also ask for a deposit of 50 EUR as part of your contribution to secure your spot.

Please note that this amount is not a strict requirement, and in the spirit of NOTAFLOF, we welcome faeries of all walks of life and income levels.

The island

We have seclusion and privacy so we can be free in nature. The tents are pre-built between high trees, reed palms, dense thicket and some open spots with grass. You can take a nice walk around the island or relax on one of the beautiful nooks and hammocks to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Most of the tipis and yurts on the island have a stove or wood fireplace so you can keep warm at night.

The island also features a swimming area, hammocks and comfortable seating, a dedicated toilet block with hot showers, and an area with electrical outlets.

We have a dedicated kitchen and dining tent, along with a a communal lounge tent and a dedicated love temple.

What to expect?

This is a faerie gathering, so expect heart circles, connection, wanders into nature, non-talent shows, laughter, joy (and perhaps, sadness).

Anyone can run a workshop, put on a show, or propose amazing ideas. We form a beautiful and deep, intimate connection with one another. As faeries, we all help out with practicalities, such as cooking, cleaning and supporting one another.

We offer a capacity of 54 faeries to create a vibrant gathering with a communal spirit.

For this gathering, we offer registrations in the form of a lottery system. Rather than offering places on a “first come, first serve” basis, anyone is welcome to register for the gathering within a week that the call is released. If the number of registrations is more than the number of spaces we have available on the island, then places will be offered based on a random draw.

In solidarity with our queer brothers and sisters, we also offer a limited number of priority places who self-identify as follows: gender and sexual minorities (especially those assigned female at birth); those with an abundance of experience and seniority within the radical faerie community; queer refugees and souls of colour.

We invite you to make this pink lighthouse shine ✨

In the spirit of the call, we invite you to offer your authentic and creative spirit to this island. With a touch of creativity and intention, these gatherings can offer wonderful and memorable experiences. Some ideas and possibilities include:

  • Offering a workshop centered around touch, singing and collective music making.

  • Showcasing or sharing a film or creative project.

  • Offering live music or a concert. Loud amplified “techno music” is discouraged, but we do have a portable digital piano that can be set up anywhere on the island.

  • Offering a hidden surprise in the forest, a ritual or performance.

  • Offering a light and sound installation. We have a portable power supply available to use, so it is easy to set up such an installation anywhere on this island.

  • Offering a heart-to-heart discussion or heart circle around a particular theme or topic. We can use our time together to hold important conversations around themes such as loneliness, belonging, mental health, meaning, identity, nationality, purpose, creativity and what the world means to us and what kind of future we can envision. Such conversations can prove to be incredibly inspiring and fruitful, especially if held with an open mind and heart.

A quick note on substances and personal, psychedelic exploration

At our upcoming gathering, we understand that some participants may choose to explore the use of psychedelic substances at a low to medium dose as part of their personal journey on one particular day in a group guided setting. This has been a long tradition of these island gatherings and we have a lot of collective experience in how to manage this experience in a way that is safe and inclusive. We want to emphasise however that while these experiences can be profound for some, they are by no means a requirement for participation.

Whether you choose to engage in psychedelic exploration or not, we invite you to join us in experiencing the magic and camaraderie of our gathering. Together, we can create a space where everyone feels respected, supported, and free to explore their own unique journey of self-discovery.

Please note that this is not strictly a sober gathering. We want to communicate this expectation clearly, as we respect the decision of faeries who base their attendance on whether the gathering will be held as a sober space. We tolerate personal consumption of light alcohol such as wine or cannabis if consumed responsibly and discreetly. Also note that gatherings can be a great way to explore sobriety in what ever form that looks like to you, and experience shows that in practice (aside from the one day in which there may be psychedelic exploration) the majority of the gathering is held as a sober experience.

Please note however that the use hard drugs, such as amphetamines, 3MMC and GHB is strictly forbidden.

Let us come together and make this pink lighthouse shine brighter than ever!

We welcome faeries of all genders, creeds and nationalities.
